About TCP

We are a non-profit therapeutic community for teens and adults, many of whom are on the autism spectrum or who have related challenges such as social communication challenges, learning disabilities, or difficulties with emotional regulation. We provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions. TCP is first and foremost a therapeutic program; we are also an accredited middle and high school, we have a young adult transition program and a residential program to help support the transition into college, employment, and/or living independently.

Currently, we have 30 participants and their families in our full-time day program. We are one of only a few programs in the country that have explicitly embraced Stanley Greenspan’s Developmental, Individual-differences & Relationship-based/Floortime model as the foundation of our humanistic and person-centered approach. We believe that healthy social-emotional development is the key to success in the social realm, the academic realm, and in the larger world. The DIR/Floortime model is a broad framework for understanding how development occurs, how emotions relate to learning, and how we can best interact to foster growth in social-emotional and cognitive areas.

In addition to using the principles of the DIR model to guide us, we also use a variety of techniques and approaches to address the individual needs of each adolescent and adult participant. TCP is a community that embraces learning, and we are looking for individuals who are lifelong learners- who are curious, who are not afraid to ask questions, and who are passionate about helping neurodivergent people or those with related challenges!
