Position Summary:
Professional Counselor provides one-on-one individual, couples, family, and group counseling services.
Responsibilities:
· Conducting initial intake assessments to determine the level of care needed
· Provides supportive counseling to clients including but not limited to: crisis intervention, problem-solving, psycho-education and wellness planning
· Provide direct care services based on individual need to include individual, family, group, and/or educational group services
· Developing and implementing treatment plans
· Discharge planning and identify and make referrals to community resources
· Identify and provide additional resources and supports
· Collaborate with treatment and support teams (co-workers, therapists, social workers, case managers, and other professions)
· Complete all required documentation which includes, but not limited to, the individual service plans, monthly/quarterly reports, discharge planning, progress notes timely as required by FCCGW and VA or MD State License Regulations
· Report to FCCGW’s Program Director every month with an accurate evaluation of clients
Requirements:
· Master's Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, Art Therapy, Psychology, Clinical Social Work, or other directly related clinical disciplines, which included a clinical practicum involving provision of diagnostic and treatment services prior to graduation
· Specialty/experience in couples, children/youth, marriage and family counseling
· Virginia and Maryland clinical license or license eligible as an LPC/LCPC, LCSW-C, LCP or LMFT preferred
· Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) registration in the State of Virginia required within 60 days of hire in the appropriate area (QMHP-A or QMHP-C) without current licensure in the State of Virginia
· Counseling: 2 years of experience (Required)
· Bilingual highly recommended (Korea/English, Chinese/English, Spanich/English etc) & Speaking & Writing Skill Required.
· Flexible schedule and willing to work 1 evening a week a must, if needed.
· At least once a week office work is expected, but negotiable
