Join our team as an Undergraduate Paid Intern in our ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) program, you will be a crucial part of empowering clients on their journey toward mental health stability and independence. Through personalized, in-home, skills-based interventions, our programs foster independence and stability while nurturing essential life skills.

Under the mentorship of licensed clinical mental health professionals, you will directly engage with clients, participate in team meetings, and access continuous education opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Client Caseload Management: Work with a small number of clients, providing support tailored to their needs, ensuring a positive impact on their mental health journey.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend staff and team meetings, contributing to collaborative client care and program development efforts.
  • Support Activities: Have the potential to assist with ARMHS or CTSS groups and other program-related tasks, enhancing your practical skills.
  • Diagnostics & Treatment Plans: Shadow diagnostic assessments and collaborate on designing effective treatment plans for clients.
  • Documentation: Learn to document mental health sessions accurately, maintaining organized patient electronic health records in compliance with state legislation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate program within behavioral health (social work, psychology, sociology, community counseling, family social science, child development, child psychology, community mental health, addiction counseling, counseling and guidance, special education, nursing), and must be eligible to receive internship credit through your school.
  • Previous experience (preferred but not required): Ideal candidates will have had previous experience working with individuals who have a mental illness, substance use disorder, traumatic brain injury, or development disabilities.
    • This experience could include, but is not limited to: direct support professional experience, paraprofessional work, working as a psychiatric aid, etc.
  • Passion: Demonstrated passion and interest in the mental health field.
  • Credit hours: must have completed 30 semester credit hours or 40 quarter credit hours prior to starting your internship. 
  • Reliable transportation: Must have access to a personal vehicle to use during the internship to get to client appointments. You will not transport clients.
