Tea & Empathy Counseling is a clinician-founded private practice group located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Our mission is to partner with our clients and journey through the art of healing with them.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Medication Provider to join our growing mental health team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating patients, prescribing medications, monitoring their effectiveness to ensure optimal mental health outcomes, and coordinating with counselors as needed. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive care for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Prescribe appropriate psychiatric medications and monitor their effects on patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Educate patients and their families about medication management and mental health issues.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in psychiatric medication and treatment protocols.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid medical license to practice as a Psychiatric Medication Provider in the state of Virginia.
  • Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • Valid DEA, Malpractice Insurance, and NPI.
  • Independent licensure and/or working with collaborating MD.
  • Registration with state Prescription Monitoring Program.
  • Strong understanding of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric setting is preferred.

Job Types: 1099 Contractor

Compensation: This is a 1099 Contractor; Fee for Service position. Compensation is based on reimbursement rates and will vary based on the insurance contracted rate.
