South Carolina Youth Advocate Program (SCYAP) is seeking mental health professionals to provide community support services to children, youth and families struggling to cope and manage the challenges of mental and behavioral health symptoms. Service hours are flexible around staff and family schedules and range from 5-40 hours per week provided in the home or community.
Duties include:
• Teaching, modeling and practicing coping skills to prevent behavioral or emotional outbursts
• Redirecting undesirable behaviors and reinforcing desirable behaviors
• Assisting and training caregivers with the skills needed to manage the challenges of life presented on a daily basis
• Celebrating the successes with families as they accomplish their treatment goals
• Guiding and empowering clients and families to function independently and productively in their communities
Position Requirements
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience working with children and adolescents
• Positive attitude and dedication to working with at-risk population
• Good clinical judgement with willingness and desire to work collaboratively with treatment team
• High energy, motivated individuals with strong work ethic and ability to work independently
• Advanced oral and written communication skills
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 30 per week"
