Our Social Work Intern First Year position pays $18.00 per hour for, Recruitment, Foster program records review, On-Call Intake; Telephone Intake (at $36 per hour for active response when on-call). The following is an estimation of the total number of hours, you may schedule as a (negotiable) 20 hour week. This is a First Year position.
About 56% of this is support services and outreach for homeless youth. Nearly 27% of this is community outreach to engage and train foster parent applicants. 18% is training & supervision. Most activities don’t occur weekly, so our listing (seperate job description) of weekly hours are just an average estimate.For example, as many as 15 hours of training occur within the first three weeks; some Foster Parent Cafés only occur virtually and quarterly, etc. All interns will complete preliminary training, using the PowerDMS archive, Zoom and face-to-face instruction. Students are trained for crisis intake and expected to be on-call one night out of the week. On-Call credits 10 minutes for each hour available for Telephone Intake. Only after Interns understand this material are they assigned and supervised to provide telephone intake – one night a week. Training includes Motivational Interviewing and experience providing support in a crisis, as well as follow-up support for homeless runaways.
Information from the initial intake, face-to-face interviews, objective assessment tools as well as follow-up interviews are used to evaluate: Social & Emotional Well-being; Establishment of Permanent connections; Attainment of Stable Living; and Maintenance of Education and/or Employment. This is training and execution of Program Evaluation. Foster family recruitment occurs via community contact: providing set presentations and assistance; conducting presentations to schools and the community; using customer relations management software (CRM) and social media to prepare for trainings and complete application requirements.
Enrollment in a Masters in Social Work program is required. We prefer Spanish speaking. Worker must have a California Driver’s License. APPLICANT MUST NOT HAVE A DUI AND MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND RECORD CHECK
