Position Title: Forensic Social Worker
Department: Public Defender 15th Judicial District
Status: State-funded; Full-Time with Benefits
Location: Lebanon, TN - Wilson County
Salary: $44,772 to $71,688 annually depending education, license and experience
JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
?Completion of needs assessments for clients of the district as well as making individualized recommendations regarding the client’s service needs.?Monitoring clients’ treatment in detention facilities and in the community; resource assistance related to housing, employment, health care, mental health, substance use, and education; re-entry, parole, and release plan preparation; and general case management.?Maintaining documentation for all communication and services provided, in addition to each client’s progress and backsets through each case.?Scheduling and attending visits/phone calls with clients in detention facilities, for and with the attorneys of the district.?Engaging clients in detention facilities and in the community to encourage a supportive relationship, to monitor resource utilization, and to assess overall client stability.?Support services such as crisis intervention, family liaison, and occasional counseling.?Substance Abuse Assistance: Assessing, planning and assisting in securing services.?Adhering to TN Rules of Professional Conduct.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
?Bachelor’s Degree in social work required (current students working toward their social workerdegree(s) are welcome to apply for consideration but must note expected graduation date);?Licensed Social Worker in the State of Tennessee or obtain licensure within one year of employment;?Very organized with ability to multitask;?Excellent written and verbal communication skills;?Proficient knowledge of computer hardware and standard software including Word, Excel,PowerPoint, the Internet, and email applications; experience with Microsoft Office 365 preferred; and?Must authorize the release of any investigative and criminal records obtained by the Federal Bureau ofInvestigation or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.HOW TO APPLY Please send a current resume indicating the position for which you are applying to: Public Defenders Conference Attn: Tammy Martin - Personnel Director Email: tammy.martin@tn.gov The Tennessee District Public Defenders Conference is an equal opportunity employer.
