Not only will you gain invaluable experience at our hospice organization but you will get to make a difference in the lives of Hospice patients and their loved ones. Our internships are offered in a few formats; 6 week, 8-12 weeks (summer), and lastly our Semester long internships running, on a rolling basis, from January to June and June/July to January.
As a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team, and under the direction of the Supervising Social Worker, the Intern will provide social service counseling and guidance to facilitate the maximum function and coping capacity of each patient and family member while following all hospice policies and procedures, in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care. Hospice Social Work Interns also support the Provider Relations activities of the organization and may provide bereavement counseling to family members as identified.
