About Lakefront Therapy
Lakefront Therapy, LLC is a psychodynamic private practice that provides thoughtful, relationship-oriented therapy to individuals, couples, families, and children. We are grounded in depth-oriented work, while integrating mindfulness, somatic awareness, and evidence-based practices like CBT and DBT. Our team is committed to fostering the personal and professional development of future therapists through rich clinical training and reflective supervision.
We are currently seeking passionate graduate-level practicum students and pre-licensed associates who are eager to deepen their clinical skills and engage in long-term, insight-driven therapy with diverse client populations.
Internship Overview
Our internship is designed to prepare clinicians for licensure and sustainable private practice, with an emphasis on psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy. Interns gain exposure to long-term depth work while also learning to incorporate tools from trauma-informed care, family systems, CBT, and mindfulness. Our clinical training supports the development of each therapist’s unique voice and therapeutic identity, grounded in empathy, curiosity, and clinical rigor.
Interns will treat a wide range of presenting issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, identity development, relational distress, and family dynamics. The program encourages thoughtful self-reflection, emotional attunement, and a deepening understanding of transference/countertransference dynamics.
Clients & Caseloads
Our clients are diverse in age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic background. Interns will see individuals, couples, families, and children with varied presenting concerns—from life transitions and grief to attachment wounds and complex trauma.
Caseloads are flexible and co-constructed with supervisors. While most services are offered via telehealth, interns may be expected to provide a limited number of in-person sessions depending on licensure requirements. Interns are encouraged to gradually build their caseload and clinical niche with support from the team.
