We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Master's level Counseling Intern to join our team starting the Fall semester. As a Counseling Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various counseling techniques and settings. This internship position provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of counseling.
Duties:
- Conducting assessments with new clients to determine client needs
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions
- Collaborate with the counseling team to develop treatment plans for clients
- Utilize evidence-based interventions such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques to support clients
- Provide support and guidance to clients dealing with addiction, gender issues, and other mental health concerns
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment strategies
- Work with diverse populations, including adults with priority diagnosis, substance abuse issues, and homelessness
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a counseling or related program at an accredited university or college- Ability to go onsite
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and best practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with clients
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Flexibility to work in different settings, including outpatient clinics, or residential treatment centers.
