The VA Long Beach Healthcare System has Academic Year 2025-2026 2nd year MSW Internship opportunities.
The VA Long Beach is a government healthcare facility serving veterans located at 5901 East 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90822.
2nd-year social work interns have the opportunity to provide therapy, case management, and discharge planning.
Internship placement opportunities include: Spinal Cord Injury, HUD-VASH, Inpatient Mental Health, Urgent Mental Health Clinic, Homeless Outreach, Substance Abuse, Workplace Violence Prevention Program, Geriatric Services such as Skilled Nursing Care and Home-Based Primary Care, the Caregiver Support Program, and Primary Care. Shadowing opportunities include the Emergency Department, Inpatient Medicine, and Veteran Resource Center.
VA Long Beach provides a $7500 stipend for 500 hours of service and offers direct hire opportunities after graduation.
VA Long Beach provides clinical supervision for both the internship and towards licensure if hired.
